By year-end 1997, nearly 97,000 agents were marketing Lincoln Benefit’s products. We had originated nearly $7 billion in assets under management and $73 billion of life insurance in force.

We also reported over $761 million of direct statutory premiums in 1997. Lincoln Benefit Life is highly rated by industry analysts who base their analyses on the company’s financial strength and ability to meet its obligations.

All of the net new business written by Lincoln Benefit Life is reinsured with its parent company, Allstate Life Insurance Company of Northbrook, Illinois. This means that the reserves, and the invested assets supporting those reserves behind the Lincoln Benefit policies, are all owned and managed by Allstate Life-a company with approximately $27.5 billion in total assets and over $2.2 billion in capital and surplus.
